{"id":563,"date":"2026-04-03T21:05:48","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T21:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesouthwesterngriller.com\/?p=563"},"modified":"2026-04-09T13:12:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T13:12:00","slug":"kilt-lifter-beer-brat-eggrolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthwesterngriller.com\/?p=563","title":{"rendered":"KILT LIFTER EGG ROLLS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Marinade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 bottles Kilt Lifter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tbsp red pepper flakes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tbsp black pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 cloves raw garlic, smashed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 lbs bratwurst<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup yellow onion, diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 yellow onion, sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd stick butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tbsp fresh Serrano Pepper, finely diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 block (8 oz) cream cheese<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tbsp mustard seed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u20133 cups coleslaw mix<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u20131\u00bd cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For Frying<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Egg roll wrappers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water (room temperature, for sealing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oil for frying (vegetable, peanut, or canola)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marinate the Brats (Overnight)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a large bowl, combine beer, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and smashed garlic. Add brats and refrigerate overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brown the Brat Crumble<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove brats from marinade (reserve liquid and garlic).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove casings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add brat meat, breaking it apart into a fine crumble.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dice the marinated garlic and add to the pan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add \u00bc cup diced yellow onion and \u00bc cup reserved marinade.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook until browned and crumbly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove mixture to a bowl and set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cook the Onions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the same skillet, add sliced yellow onion to the remaining juices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook until translucent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add butter and Serrano pepper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook until soft and slightly caramelized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Add onions to the brat mixture bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Make the Creamy Beer Base<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pour remaining marinade into the skillet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add cream cheese and mustard seed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Break up cream cheese and whisk lightly as it melts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in coleslaw mix.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook until coleslaw softens slightly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove from heat and add to the brat mixture. Stir to combine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refrigerate mixture until completely cooled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Add Cheese<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once chilled, stir mixture and fold in shredded sharp cheddar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Roll the Egg Rolls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pour oil into a large heavy pot, deep enough to fully submerge egg rolls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat oil to 350\u00b0F.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spoon filling into the center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fold bottom corner over filling and tuck tightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fold in both side corners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dip finger in water and brush edges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll tightly to seal completely.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carefully place egg rolls into hot oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fry until golden brown and crispy (about 3\u20135 minutes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove and drain on paper towels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Serve With:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spicy mustard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beer cheese dip<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or your favorite BBQ sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These crispy egg rolls bring bold BBQ flavor with a beer-infused twist.
